In this sermon, Rev. Paul Lawler explores Isaiah 58:6-10 in conjunction with our Vision Statment, which shares, "serving the poor, the oppressed and marginalized."

In our passage, God calls His people to perform religious rituals and live out a love that transforms the world. As the Israelites return from exile, they are shocked by God's rebuke: their fasting and prayers are meaningless because they neglect the poor, oppressed, and marginalized.

Rev. Paul shares how God's heart is not in mere outward actions but in the way we treat others, especially those in desperate need. From injustice to apathy, Isaiah challenges us to live a life that reflects God's love and justice. Through practical examples, we’re reminded that serving others is true worship's core. God promises that when we serve with sincerity, we will see His light, healing, and glory in our lives.
